Okay, to start off; I didn't think I would like LMMS when I started off due to how complicated it looked compared to FL Studio and how limited and unuseful to me the plug-ins were, but as I continued using it I became more and more used to it, and liked it more. As I learned more and more from the very useful Wiki, I understood everything better. All I had to do was download some 3rd party VST's and I was absolutely fine with using it. It's gotta be hands down one of the best free DAW's out there. However, there are some problems plaguing it.

1) For starters. It crashes suddenly. I hate working on a project and then the thing crashes and then all that progress is gone. Is there's some way you could I don't know......"strengthen" it? I have a *decent* windows computer, so I don't understand the problem. It usually happens when I try clicking on a VST I downloaded.

2) Saved projects will NOT load when I use a 3rd party VST. I could work around this issue by moving the VST out of the folder and re using it, but that's so inconvenient. Can't you make it compatible with all 3rd party VST's? I can use the VST, but when I save, close, then try to reopen the project where I used it, it doesn't open. This needs to be fixed ASAP because I made some good melodies that I can't even use anymore.

3) This is small, but I think it'll make people's experience way better. When I use a 3rd party VST, and change a setting within the VST's window, I can't play keys with my keyboard MIDI. I can only do that when I click somewhere outside the window of the VST. Again, it's small, but I really feel like making the keyboard MIDI active when clicking both inside and outside the window would really enhance the work flow. I'm am appreciative of how it is currently though, cause in Cakewalk, I found out that you had to open a whole new window with a Keyboard just to use the MIDI with the VST, so I know it could be worse. But it also could be better.

That's about all the issues I had with it, other than that this DAW is delightful. I'll also make some suggestions to improve this software even more.

1) Cakewalk has a little help window you can open and close that displays a description of whatever thing you are hovering your mouse over. I think y'all should steal that. It would really help people who are new to LMMS, and make them less intimidated.

2) FL Studio has a "Chopper" feature where you can take a note and divide it various amounts of times. It's really useful for Trap music production when you do hi-hat or snare rolls.(I produce Trap music) Here's a video of it being used.

Thank you for all that you've done for us.

Oh? here we need to know your
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* VST involved & link to a download for this VST
* Name of VST-FX-plugin if any used

In respect to 'fixes' : Save often, and after a crash you have 2 backups:

True, thats because some VST takes focus away from the embedding software. There are looked at this.

We used to have that, but for inexplicably reason, it was deemed 'not useful' and removed
"Chopper" feature where you can take a note and divide it various amounts of times.
May come, but not sceduled. (You can find stand-alone programs that can do that, and then you can import the pieces to lmms)
