SoundCloud could be forced to close after $44M losses

I myself am not happy about this at all. Soundcloud isn't perfect, but it sure is a convenient way to share and embed music.
Abandon ship, slowly. Or at the very least, start exploring potential SC alternatives. SC is still one of the best, but nothing lasts forever.

pfeeew yes i would be 'outofthere' in a NY-moment, if it was my garage-business
Bandcamp could be an alternative i guess
Oh man.
That's sad news.
Soundcloud was always an okay music site.
Still, I hope they don't close down though.
Hopefully they pull through. :)
Damn, this saddens me too. Does anyone have some suggestions as a backup?
I think Soundcloud losses that value due a lot of strikes happen with it by other big known budget audio production and distributors. and of course, they can dispute it and it looses.

So, Soundcloud will becoming like youtube in future, either fade from exist or keep itself a live with a lot of rules over a user .i.e. no remixes, no popular songs from others. no radio station uploads here .
only your work.
only your work.
only your work.

I've been using https://clyp.it/ and I'm really liking it, but its more of a platform for sharing WIP's and snippets than full songs.

(Also I've been featured twice on the main page this week, so that's awesome too :3)

Cool!
I'll fully check it out, this week.

Very cool.

But hopefully, I hope soundcloud doesn't close down. It has so much potential.
Almost endless possibilties, for soundcloud and others like it.
SoundCloud is going to survive. One of the reasons is its new subscription service SoundCloud Go: https://blog.soundcloud.com/2016/03/29/ ... dcloud-go/

They still have financial problems, but due to the sustained growth in recent years they still have great potential and competitive power.

Meanwhile, I've been looking for other sites. Clyp.it is good, but ytmnd.com is a bit special:
http://calrowarmglow.ytmnd.com/

This was made in a hurry, so it doesn't loop seemlessly, and the zooming text could be done better. But as you can see, ytmnd also lets you add visuals to your audio loop.

What do you think? Clyp.it, ytmnd, or both?

Me, Outer Mind, and DJ Light (all of which use LMMS) are using a new site called Twine. We are able to upload as much music as we want without limits, as well as the ability to import all previous music from your soundcloud account.
