Change the time signature in a beat sample

Hello and sorry for any mistakes or repeated question, first post here. I would like to know if there is a way to change the time signature in one beat sample from 4/4 to 3/4.
For example, the whole song is 4/4, but in the chorus, after three 4/4 there is a 3/4.
I don't know how well I can phrase that question, I didn't study much music theory so forgive me once again.

Well time signature changes does really not change anything, except the 'fit' in the beat-grid

I suspect that what you really are looking for to be able to do, is the make and actual stretch of the sample, so that the down-beat in real-time occur at a different time.
We cant do that in LMMS, but you can in Audacity
It is free, solid and well maintained
