Making LMMS make piano sounds

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Here the University has closed off access to instruments, but keyboard students are still being expected to meed certain requirements. Two of us were given Axiom Pro 61 Midi controller keyboards to get us through. They don't appear to make sound on their own or have their own speakers. They attach to a computer via USB. It would be a great help to both of us if someone could please provide clear instructions on how to make LMMS simply make these keyboards sound like a piano through our laptop speakers. I use a Windows 10 x64 PC, and my friend uses a Macbook with the latest software. You have no idea how much this would help us. We're desparate. Thank you in advance!
Assuming you haven't read it already, does this guide help? https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Using_MIDI

There's a section on how to get started and it begins right at the very start with the order you have plug things in / switch them on / start them up and takes you through to linking the keyboard to one of the LMMS instruments.

I haven't tried this myself, but it looks like it's got everything covered.

FilthyWizard already gave you the link to the installation guide. I hope you can get your MIDI-kb activated, but its still needs a piano! Here i would recommend MDA-Piano http://mda.smartelectronix.com/synths.htm
It is very small in size, and you can just copy its dll to your VST-folder. Further its a quite good piano-instrument, so it is a win win

Besides that, since you are new in Forum

My saviors! Thank you very much indeed for your assistance... looks like all I needed was a good VST!

Btw... Does this VST not work for you guys? Seems like it will take MIDI input for me but not produce any actual sound. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AucNdHoia6D-gcJvTHF ... Q?e=gpQ6Ig

I dont know witch one you man. there are 4 listed in that link, but 2 we can rule out, because LMMS does not (natively) support VST3
I should be 'possible' through s.c. 'Carla-rack' but
* That is a middlelayer -It costs in performance
* Only Linux has full Carla. Carla-4-win 'exists' but is allegedly buggy ..idk

My bad those are four versions of the same VST. I was trying to use either the 64 bit or 32 bit regular VST with VeSTige. The interface comes up, and the keys play based on MIDI input, but no sound...
