I used to try many kinds of tools for the projects I work on. Regarding music, I've tried truckloads of tools, and even made a few scripts to help me streamline the process.
But at the end of the day, I realize I've spent far too many hours looking for ways to make my work easier and save time. It hasn't worked for me. So I've simplified things by settling on a very small number of tools.
For music production, I've ditched my older methods, and I will settle on LMMS and Audacity as my tools. If I can't get it done using those two, then I can't get it done at all. Of course that's just me. I get more done when I limit myself to a minimum of options. For others, the opposite may be true. As they say, YMMV.
