I kind of wish shortening a sample actually did work. I went back and counted, specifically I have 44 measures repeating a 4 measure chord progression... not 20 measures as mentioned for the sake of example. I think the largest sample I can use now is 4 measures, which is actually just once through ...
Thanks. I'm on Windows 8... other tech stuff, I don't know... ie, I don't know what Ubuntu is... Some of what I've been doing is just learning workarounds, in this case, just means I have to be more precise in how I put a project together, which in general is a good thing... although this sample is ...
More specifically... closer to identifying the problem, though still unresolved... One, the sample keeps playing when I am listening to my project and I decide while listening to skip to a different part of the project... so, OK, once the sample starts playing, I guess it wants to play to the end......
kind of a plug here, but just showing I've come along a bit in the last few months, since January 2014, when I started using LMMS... had some frustrations with it at first... folks on the forum helped me through a few things... excited about the new version... Oh, the plug... I've posted some things...
cool, thanks... yeah, hiding unused instrument tracks would be good. I suppose I'm gradually answering my own questions too- I see in the demos, people aren't stacking their instruments into their B&B tracks, but ... oh, I think I see now, they just add those things like Triple Oscillator (would...
I might just be "thinking out loud" here... checking out the demos they have in LMMS and trying to learn from those as far as how to structure songs... Looks like they're putting together some decent things without using plug-ins, just using built in stuff like ZynAddSubFX... still, seems ...
It's been up and down for me with LMMS, right now, down, haha. You gotta have plug-ins, right? I've only been fiddling with LMMS for a few weeks, still learning, liking the sounds overall, trying to make freeware work for me as much as possible, music is a side-project in my life. But, you gotta hav...
Another little trick to simulate is in a drum track in the piano roll- at the bottom, vary the volume of each hit.
that way, every kick or snare hit doesn't "sound" exactly the same, there's some variation that sounds a little less mechanical.
Thanks. I think I figured it out... basically, coming up with workarounds, just shifting my mentality- I tried to make tracks that had all the elements in them, now I realize I can "layer" things- play multiple tracks simultaneously and that's what Song Editor basically does. So yeah, inst...
Just started learning LMMS a few days ago... some success... watched a few tutorials... still alot of questions on basic stuff... This should be simple- how do I copy a track, specifically a bassline beats track? would love it if I could just hit a copy and past somewhere, but no. First of all, I ma...
