Hi! I like Synth1 very much. It is easy to make new sounds and save them as presets. It works fine with LMMS, but until recently I was not attempting to automate Synth1 controls on LMMS. I came across some comment, which I can't find now, which says it is possible to automate Synth1. I tried it, but...
I spent some more time on an old Lisp project for music, and I remembered why I vowed to never use Lisp again. It seems C or C++ are the best choices after all. Which one is best depends on the type of program. Actually I found that OOD as implemented in C++ is easy once I found the right approach. ...
P.S. I forgot to mention that I also use the amazing Synth 1. On the other hand, I spent some time in the past attempting to use some singing synthesis plugins, but abandoned that idea.
I think LMMS is very good for beginners. There are lots of videos on YouTube which you may find useful, ranging from beginner level to some more advanced production techniques. I've tried alternative DAWs but I find the LMMS user interface much more logical and easier to use. There are also videos w...
Hi! I thought I would post before it gets dark. Soon there will be lots of noise due to fireworks, some hopefully harmless gunfire, and lots of barking dogs. Some of them are very sensitive and freak out when they hear loud bangs. I think I will dash over to the nearby liquor store and get some adul...
There are many off the shelf software choices for synthesized voices. I remember posting about one for singing synthesis. I tried it with LMMS. I don't have time right now to search for it. Although it's old school I like to experiment with eSpeak for text because it is free and it is not sample bas...
Niklaus Wirth was one of the greats of computer science. His book Algorithms + Data Structures = Programs is one of my favorites. He was a pioneer of computer languages. He was also involved in hardware design. You can find some of his lectures and interviews on YouTube.
Thanks. I will read the bug tracker list. I like to exterminate bugs.

I stayed up all night looking for drum kits. I just came across TS-808 by Tactile Sounds. The VST comes in mono and stereo versions. On LMMS I can only hear left speaker using mono, so I use the stereo version. Seems good so far.
I have been disappointed by many VSTs and soundfonts I have downloaded.

"Get Synth1 -it wont disapoint"

I installed Synth1 this morning and I've been trying it out in LMMS. I think I'm in love!

Any great drum kit VST recommendations?

Thank you!
I'm just beginning to learn how to use zynaddsubfx so I don't need to depend on presets, as good as they are. Lots to learn. The LMMS documentation is helpful but as it says, it does not cover everything about this very powerful synth. I found these links about the synth which are from the source. h...
