@avery: the click is happening because LMMS still does not have sample-exactness in controls. That's coming in 1.2 for native plugins only, because ladspa does not support sample-exactness IIRC. The solution to your click problem is to add a bit of attack on your compressor, instead of removing it....
@avery the main reason why some VST's don't run inside LMMS is because LMMS does not use the Steinberg SDK for loading VST's. It uses VeSTige, which is a reverse-engineered solution. The reason LMMS can't use the VST SDK is because VST is a proprietary standard, and owed by Steinberg. As such, it c...
Thanks a lot brandystarbrite!
Everyone so far has mentioned instruments, but there are also VST effects! I recommend EasyQ (a very easy EQ), Ambience (awesome reverb), CMT Bitcrusher (very straightforward bitcrusher with overdrive, bit depth reduction, and downsampling), DBlue Glitch (really cool glitch effect sequencer), Camel ...
The VSTi plugin Shortcircuit is a multi-sample sampler, and can act pretty much like a Soundfont, so if you just want to play different samples with different keys, try that. Also, if your keyboard has a split option, then I think it may be sending MIDI to different MIDI channels. Try splitting the ...
Oh, okay. Why exactly do some VSTs not work in LMMS though?
Is there a way to turn off snap completely? I like MIDI recording but the best accuracy I can get is 1/192, and I still don't completely like that.
Umcaruje, your method is great!... But it doesn't completely work for me. There's always a little click when the sidechaining is supposed to happen, even when the Peak Controller's Attack and the Compressor's Attack are set to the lowest possible value.
When I add it as an effect, or even host it in VeSTige, I can see its GUI and edit parameters but it makes sound completely cut out. I am running 64 bit LMMS, and I've tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vinyl. Also, the website says that it does not run in 64 bit hosts because it is a 32 b...
