Do you want all of them, or just some of them? Anyway, there were a lot of progressions based around Am and Dm in early 20th century Russian/Gypsy "romances" ("Those were the days" is one that eventually became an international hit, though the original lyrics are quite different....
Yea, I meant actual playing technique. Theory I can manage, but I never learned proper ways to play keyboard.

Thanks for the tip on setting the Q. Haven't thought of that.
I'm still learning LMMS, but the more I try, the more I miss the immediacy of actually playing and hearing what you play, I just can't really randomly improvise and try out ideas efficiently with just the piano roll or PC keyboard... The problem is, that while I have an ancient (but quite decent) sy...
I don't know much about it myself, but well, there's MIDI and then there is MIDI... It lets devices talk to each other without blowing up, but beyond that the thing is very loosely standardised. So, for a simple and straightforward answer, a lot depends on where exactly the original midi file comes ...
Hi everyone, thanks for all the replies! I'm just going to make a general statement addressing what everyone has said so far. Now I get that I shouldn't expect massive results in two weeks, but I'm not progressing, at all. I'm still in the same place I was before I decided to read some theory and o...
Say, "Sunrise" (aka "that ultra-bombastic piece from 2001:The Space Odissey everyone parodies") Mmmmmm... That is actually " Richard Strauss - Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30 " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFPwm0e_K98 Well, I didn't want people to be REALLY scared. ...
Musikbear mentioned sample songs... It's a good idea, as is just watching other people making melodies in YouTube tutorials, etc. Even if they're not in LMMS. Another interesting thing to do is to look up some iconic licks everyone knows (especially those not from exactly "your kind" of mu...
I'm not so good at this thing myself yet, but I experimented with various kinds of music on and off for a while now, and so here are my two pennies... If all you have is 2 weeks with no any prior experience, you're expecting results too early. Seriously, the biggest secret in learning anything music...
The exact same thing as in Linux then :( You can kind of circumvent this by saving the presets from the VST itself and then manually loading them (since the preset number is the one thing loaded correctly) but that's not very useful for a serious project.
Theoretically, all correctly-made VSTs are supposed to work on any application that supports them (IIRC, Logic Pro actually doesn't.) Practically, it's a bit more complicated, and the only way to be sure is to download the VST (or at least its demo version) and run it through its paces: create a pro...
