Hopefully the thread starter found the answer by now, but this list of improvements and bug fixes on flathub.org might answer the question for others.

Perhaps some users of the flatpak version can advise if there is anything missing.
I think that part of the answer can be found in the release notes: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/tag/v1.2.0-rc8 Known issues with this release: Apple * VST plugins (.dll) do not work on Apple (Please see bug #698 ) In theory macOS users can install wine using Homebrew . In practice, wine sup...
Installing on macOS 10.12 (and earlier) appears to be unsupported with lmms-1.2.0-rc8-mac10.13.dmg . Some people are unable to upgrade to macOS 10.13 without breaking other programs, while some are stuck at macOS 10.11 due to hardware limitations. e.g. Mac Pro and others from 2008/2009. Is there a p...
but i barely see....it's much much too dark for my eyes. So i'll keep the old version in my laptop, for live sessions sake In the latest pre-release versions there appears to be a new default theme. But in the settings you should be able to select the classic theme, which is much easier for me to use.
I'm also looking at other DAWS, such as Reaper. If you search KVR audio forums you should find some comparisons between Bitwig, Reaper and others. One other option might be to get an Ableton Live Lite licence included when you purchase some MIDI keyboards. You can also download an evaluation copy o...
In macOS the development of LMMS is a little bit behind the other platforms, so it pays to have the latest LMMS 1.2 release candidate (at least until the 1.2 stable release is available). In the 1.1.3 release there were some things not working for me on macOS, including MIDI keyboard support. In the...
In Audacity there is support of having plug-ins inside Audacity itself. So if Audacity was a plug-in in LMMS, then you'd have a plug-in that also had plug-ins of it's own. I'm not sure how feasible this is.

Perhaps it would be better if LMMS directly supported all the Audacity plug-ins.
Your VSTs dll's must be in the folder defined in your Setup as your VST-library, as shown here: Do they all need that to be in that specific folder to load the VST DLL plug-ins? Or is it just considered easier to keep them in one place? I'm running debian linux and I've noticed I can just drag and ...
Perhaps you need to provide more detail about your system and what is happening. My computer: Macbook Pro 13 inch Late 2011 with MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 My MIDI keyboard: AKAI APC Key 25 My LMMS: LMMS 1.2.0 rc7 Instrument/plugin and preset used: ZynAddSubFX with DX Rhodes 3 preset (most likely this par...
AKAI APC Key 25 is working with Debian Linux 9.6 amd64 using LMMS 1.1.3. I’ve already mentioned this in another thread: https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27378 But I thought I would add it here and mention that is also works with MacOS 10.12 when LMMS 1.2.0 RC7 is installed. Open prefer...
