Yes, the recorded freq values do not match playback values.

For testing purposes I made a sweep from highest to lowest and finished at the 12 o'clock position.

So, "Set linear" works better but still a little wonky at the low end, particularly with a MIDI controller.

Trying to automate the frequency knob on the Equalizer(sweep effect). The playback timing matches but plays back at lower frequencies. For example, if I set the knob to 3k(approx. midway), it plays back at 133.309Hz. 1000Hz/25.513Hz 3000Hz/133.309Hz 6000Hz/772.494Hz Anyone know what's going on here?...

MAC features are limited in general. We cant support VST on MAC, but you could be able to find more LADSPA effects online, and those ought to be useable, also on MAC.
