for a lead-in you might insert a bar with four clicks: place the play head where you want it , hold shift and press insert. then when you mix down, just delete the entire bar.
I use to run a demo studio many moons ago. In analog (tape) recording you push the levels "to lick the red". In digital recording you don't want to do that. I keep all levels between -3 and -6 db. Everything is lowered, but "in relation" to everything else. In LMMS, AudioFileProc...
Question: did you move, consolidate or otherwise relocate the percussion (.ogg, .wav, .sf2) files around on your hard drive? If so, LMMS can't find 'em. Learned this by bitter experience.
Thank you. Glad you posted this. I'm running Win XP, SP3, 32-bit and LMMS 0.413. and was thinking of upgrading. I agree: this is a big problem. For starters, the Buffer Size and Audio settings are crucial to even get sound out of the speakers.
how much of a loss is it? If you're peaking, at say, -3db in lmms, whats your peak in the new application? I've noticed a slight volume loss in my own files, but always considered that part of the lossy compression.
thanks. it looks good. how does one get notified of updates?
This is an interesting piece of music and very well done. Best of luck with the album.
