I just got LMMS today and I want to use the melody played upon previewing a sample (specifically the Arpeggio.xpf sample), but I don't know what notes are played and Google isn't being helpful. Can someone help me? That's not a sample, it's a preset for Triple Oscillator and the "melody" ...
In the video the thing on the far left is a hi-hat...it's characteristic is that it has a foot pedal to open and close the two parts. The others being hit are cymbals, ride or crash, it's not easy to tell visually. See e.g. https://www.normans.co.uk/blog/2014/04/anatomy-drum-kit/ Don't let brandy co...
Piano roll always loops in complete bars/measures. If your tune doesn't fill the measure there will always be a gap before it loops round.

Channel 10 is the General MIDI default channel for drums. That's why many pad controllers default to that channel. I've never had any problem mapping different MIDI channels to different instruments. In case my memory was faulty I just tried it with my M-Audio keyboard...keys on Ch1 driving Triple O...
How do you find a "good melody" Then? What is its shape? What purpose does each note serve? before all, why were the music came to be about? Impossible questions! A good melody is one that people like. But since you won't get people to agree on whether an existing melody is a good one or ...
You talking about GarageBand makes me think maybe you have an Apple Mac? It helps if you provide information like that and also what version of LMMS you have. If you are on a Mac and have loaded the "stable" version 1.1.3 then I guess you didn't read the release notes which say "MIDI ...

I'm still confused. What does an 808 have to do with basslines (note spelling!)? A TR808 is a drum machine. Oh and sub-bass tends to be around 20-60 Hz (not megahertz, that's very high radio frequency). 250-300Hz is low mid range, nowhere near sub-bass. Several of the standard LMMS instruments can p...
Weird isn't it? I just downloaded the 64 bit version, extracted everything into my normal VST folder and it loaded into Vestige and the kick played with no problem at all. But you're right it's never going to work properly in LMMS. It's fine in my other DAWs, but that doesn't really help anyone here...
Yes with that VST you need the dll and the Line of Legends.Instruments folder (containing the .mse file) to be in the same folder. Then it loads and the kicks work (on notes C2 to G2). But it doesn't help much because the other instruments need to be routed to different tracks and AFAIK LMMS can't h...
