No, Carla is so much more. Its a versatile plugin host with advanced routing capabilities. It can also load SF's if you need 'em. It is comparable with FL's Patcher.

Could you please submit an issue over on github: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/new Try to be as clear and precise as possible, by providing some steps to reproduce the bug. Hmm yeah cmake does not recognize carla. Could you try doing 'sudo make install' for carla?
