I made a list of some VSTi versions of classic analog synthesizers.
They sound great and are fun to play. Many have links to factory manuals.

I would like to know this too. The CALF gear GUI's not only look great they also make the plugins easier to use.
Aha, thx GPS.
:)
No idea how it works. It looks like a Linux only plug-in.

The Calf Studio Gear is something I'd like to use but that also looks like Linux only (a bit off topic now).
Here is something that looks interesting. A LV2 drum-sampler with 16 pads. Kind of looks like a MPC.

Fabla from OpenAV.

How about http://drumkv1.sourceforge.net/drumkv1-index.html. GPL license, Foss, you can make 'kits' out of samples, basically loading different samples per slot which are assigned to a different midi key. You'll need the lv2 version, and load it through carla-git (both available in kxstudio reposit...
ok ok :)

Those two just happened to be VST plug-in that seems to do what was needed and are completely free for commercial use (TX16Wx also has a paid version with more feartures). They just happened to be Windows dll files that can be used under Linux wth Wine.

It sounds like you were looking for a plug-in that could be controlled by a MIDI controller, in this case pure control surfaces without keyboard, where each 'pad' (on the controlle...
One reason for asking is that with SAVIHost it is possible to record directly to a wav file when playing live on a keyboard. This can then be used as a sample track in LMMS.
It would be cool if a sequence can be played from LMMS and as such be synchronized with the rest of the project.
