Thank you so much. I dislike how Windows 10 forces apps on you. Disabling some of them is only a temp. affair at best! However, when using Linux and Wine, I found the CPU at idle even more demanding. I am thinking the WINE was the culprit but really do not know. I will certainly go thru the list and...
I just compared the same project (same plugins) - Reaper vs. LMMS. I found some interesting results. The ZynAddSubFX instruments were in perfect tune with LMMS but not necessarily with Reaper, where two of such sounded weak and off-key. However, Reaper's CPU usage at idle was about 5% while LMMS was...
That is a very interesting and helpful answer. Thank you. I am tempted to 'dive in' but my gut tells me, rightly or wrongly, that some of the LMMS plugins would not be compatible (as saved presets) in Reaper. Is that right? I am a bedroom musician first, and only learn technical stuff on a 'need to ...
I have tried the free VST version of ZynAddSubFX with Reaper and, unless I am imagining things, it didn't sound quite as full-bodied as it does in LMMS. So I looked at LMMS and noticed that many ZynAddSubFX presets have some preassigned FX in LMMS and maybe some STACKING. Did someone go through the ...
I should also add that as an Ubuntu-based user, I realized that the KX Studio website also has Debian packages, which work great. A lot less hassle, IMO. I can enjoy LMMS on Linux with the latest version of Surge. Very nice!
This will make working with LMMS so much nicer. My eyes thank you! My mind thanks you! And my soul thanks you! :D
New instrument is sorta cool too. What a great holiday gift.
I'm a Linux newb but managed to get it working on Bodhi Linux a few days ago. Then, after reinstalling Bodhi I could not get it to work a second time. After several hours of intense 'trying everything', I lucked on to getting it to work again, integrated with and showing up in LMMS. What worked this...
For now, I am using samples and stem tracks generated in LMMS, importing them into Reaper... flipping back and forth between the two. I eagerly await the day when the LMMS arp allows for 'swing'---even now it is great because doing arps in megababy (Reaper plugin) cannot allow for the timing offset ...
Thank you for the link. Nice to see it clearly. I tried both methods. The one you mention here and also right-clicking on the LMMS GUI pitch slider. With both, I get a performance response but no capture. When I Auto Detect by moving the pitch wheel it does not enter numerical values for channel and...
SO I can capture midi but am having difficulty capturing the pitch bend wheel while capturing midi. Maybe a hardware issue. But I ask here, is there anything I am missing? I tried "Connect to Controller..." with Triple Oscillator. Again, I am capturing notes but not my pitch wheel activity...
