I own a mini, what exactly are you trying to do with it?
Lmms can load it using it's built-in VST plugin hoster, Vestige. afaik Unfortunately not windows specific dll on linux. If thats not so, -eg win-specific-dlls actually DO work on linux, then please post again here. I always like to learn something :) One could also argue that unclear speculation is...
I think it would be pretty cool to have a couple more skins that comes with the program itself. Themes can be loaded in the settings page under file locations, as you mentioned. I think that it would be counter intuitive to make a GUI for selecting a theme when LMMS must restart to load it anyways....
what is working directory; in edit| settings | paths you have all the paths that lmms uses to find component for the projects One of those are named 'Working directory' That should be where you installed your lmms, but is it? (check the others too:) The working directory is not the installation dir...
From what I can gather from previous knowledge of how Syntask puts his songs together, it looks like running newer versions of LMMS will break the project. It definitely sounds like the percussion samples he used are being drastically pitched somehow. I'm sorry I can't look further into it right now...

Will still stick with ASIO however, as I find SDL has a heap of latency on the MIDI connection.
ASIO is always the best option for low latency :)

Actually read it as if you had a 32x OS, and had installed lmms x64

IIRC the installer would fail to install if that were the case ;)
In the lower left of the tab, in the Devices section, look for this line: "Default Device: Yes/No"

The one that says Yes is the one you will want to enter.

Re:

For now, that is probably the way to go for me. :) Also, like musikbear said, I hear SDL is a really good audio backend. how to get it to work on windows? I tried a tut relating to an audio driver, but it didn't work... :( Oh, and for the record, due to the fact I got my laptop 4 years ago, it is s...
What sounds different? There is also the issue of samples. While Skiessi (now Syntask) typically used native LMMS samples, he may have used his own for this project. A quick check of all the AudioFileProcessor instances in the project will tell you whether or not you are missing needed samples.
