Reduce number of VSTs used. if possible, render individual tracks on resource-intensive instruments into WAVs and use them as sample tracks. This is called "Freezing" a track, I think.

Try changing embedding, and waiting for a few minutes when opening GUI? I don't know if priority of tasks can be arranged on Mac, but make sure LMMS and ZASFX are normal priority.

Thanks! A bit of a shame that the VST compatibility page was discontinued. Maybe it wasn't updated often enough? No, mostly there were WAYY too many VSTs. In fact, most VSTs work with LMMS, and there are thousands if not lakhs of VSTs out on the net. And the page on VST compatibility, is outdated. ...
