First of all, congrets to the team who wrote this magnificent program. THANKS A LOT.
I use it on Linux and it works GREAT.
One point, i see in the AppImage version RC5 that there is a metronome.
It would be nice that the volume of that metronome could be altered, because now it is somewhat loud, in comparison with samples and presets.

Thanks

Yes, that could be -maby down-stream.
But here i just want to explain how you can make a song-editor custom metronome, because all you need is to use sound-samples of your likening, in a Beat&bass track.
Over one bar: Set the 'tick' on every tick, and the 'tock' on every 1. tick of every beat, then just drag this combo as long as you like in song-editor, and you have your custom metronome - you can also make count-downs, or stress special positions in your project, with special sounds in the 'metronome-track'

(Your other issue is linux specific, and not my ball-game, im afraid

Volume control is mentioned in https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/475. This issue has been partially addressed so I'll update it for clarity.
