hi,

I haven't found this feature and I think it would make a big difference when working with LMMS.
When working with lots of different instruments, layers, etc, you end up having 30+ tracks. You can quickly lose the overview of all you've got.
I am currently using empy automation tracks to separate groups of tracks into different categories. Not very elegant...

Therefore, it would be very useful to group tracks or at least collapse them into a "container track" so that they use up less space in the song editor.

These 2 threads already requested the feature:
https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25966
https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?t=696

Is this feature posible to implement?

I know that pro-tools has this feature. Im not sure it will find its way into LMMS. at least not for a foreseeable time
What a pity... not only protools, also Ableton and probably others too.
Is there any reasoning behind (I mean, has this been discussed and dismissed for a reason?). Just being curious... :)

There are sO incredible many things that need to be done, and only few devs
That's more than clear.
It is a pity that there are not enough devs. If LMMS cannot keep up with the other programs out there, it will lose users and support . I am worried about the long-term sustainability of the open software alternatives.

I have Cakewalk, and it has too. Btw, you can add as many as automation sub tracks as u like there
I know on the older versions you could compress the tracks vertically by using the "shift" key. Now you can only expand them...
