Recreate this string/pad-like lead (?) in ZynAddSubFX?

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
I've noticed that 7 Minutes Dead has a sound similar to this in many of his songs. It's kind of like strings, but not quite... kind of like a pad, but not in the background....

It's difficult to describe, so I'll give many examples so you can eventually pick out what sound I'm talking about.

These are SIMILAR to the sound I'm talking about:

1. https://soundcloud.com/7minutesdead/del ... nd-request

From 2:05 to 3:05, it plays very long notes, and it's sidechained. At the part with the anvil sounds, it plays for three beats and stops for the anvil sound to play. Everywhere else, it tends to play really long notes, sometimes stretching up to four measures.

2. https://soundcloud.com/7minutesdead/7-m ... sidewinder

From 0:45 to 1:13, it plays very long notes.

This is EXACTLY the sound I'm talking about:

3. https://soundcloud.com/7minutesdead/the-passing

All the main parts (like 5:18 and 1:47), there is a sidechained sound similar to the previous examples, that starts from a lower frequency and sweeps up. Unlike before, this sound only plays for a couple beats each time, but it is featured throughout the entire song. Here are some extra time thingies to make extra, extra sure you know exactly what I'm talking about:

1:50, 1:57, 2:01, 2:06, 2:09, 2:12, 2:16, 2:21, 2:24, 2:27, 2:32, 2:36, 2:39, 2:42, 2:46, I think you get the point.

It seems like it should be easily achievable with ZynAddSubFX, but I can't get anything even close to it. Can you make something similar? Can you at least tell what waveforms and effects are being used?

similar, yes -think so, and waveform wise, i hear mostly square and some sine, the 'pump' is ramped oscillators, synchronized to 1/4
Diddent you recently ask about ramped synth? I made a topic last week i think..
The output is quite aggressive, so Synth1 would propl. be a better choice than zasfx, or zyn need at higher midi-out-setting..
I will fiddle a little with it over the weekend
