I dove into lmms and changed the notes to the ones you found.

This definitely sounds better, and more like the original. :)

Although I am still tempted to put all notes an octave higher, those short spaced C are definitely more like the original then what I had. One line only, but such a difference.
Hard to put in word, but I was missing something in that loop, and you brought it in.

Looking forward to the sound clip, and thank you.
Cool. :D
Okay, check the link, it should be working now. :)
Link is working now :)

And I am totally happy. I think you nailed it. Interesting for me, to see I was some what close.

From "tone deaf" to this close in 3 years or so, is not bad I think.

And thank you.
I just listened to my cover with the corrected bass line and the original, and it put a smile to my face.

I am now in tune. :D Thank you Brandystarbrite.

I am also pretty close timing wise, I noticed I am using zynaddsubfx though, and not synth1.
I might switch, but that's for later.

Its a shame I am loosing allot of time, trying to get Carla working in lmms.

Carla should give us an second vestige option, but if I understand things right, I could use the newer calf plugins.

The older ones already come with lmms, and I love them.

No probs. :)

Yep. You were really, really close. Just a few keys above the actual note.
The bass melody snippet you showed us and screenshot, showed that your hearing skills
have gotten way, way better. :)

No probs. Ha! Ha! :)
It was really, a fun adventurous challenge for me too and I learned alot from this musical journey.

Okay, so you used zyn for the bassline? Cool.

In my case, with Synth 1, I used either the saw wave or square wave
for the bassline melody sound, that you hear, in the soundcloud wip example tut.
But for that particular bassline sound, I kept far, from Synth 1's Unison option
because it distorted the bass sound, a bit too much. For other bassline sounds
Unison is okay. But not for this one. Ha! Ha! :)
While listening to my cover, I started to wonder.

I read this topic again, checked my notes, and corrected them again. ( bassline )

A bit confused on why I had to do it again, but more happy I checked. :)
Cool. Glad to see you back and making music.
