How to increase volume of a track progressively?

Try using an automation track + adding the instrument you want to control the volume of to a mixer. Use Control + left click to drag the mixers volume control to the automation track and place points to gradually increase volume throughout the track.

You can use the automation feature for that.

In the Song Editor, create an automation track, or, if one is there already:
Ctrl click, the plugins volume dial and drag it into the Automation Tracks
empty black/grey bars, on the right.
