I have some hard hitting 808s that i want to use in some songs that i was impressed with. However because their .wavs i can't import them. Is there a program i can use to change them to .midi files or .vst formats so lmms will accept them?

You can use .wav files with either Audio File Processor or Sample Track so there's no need to convert them. If you have single hits then AFP is probably best. If you have loops then AFP may work or if they're longer try Sample Track.

Just as Steves says:

That is our container for sound-files.
There is a minute risc that you wont be able to load the sample-files.
Some samples collected from net or other programs, are 'protected'. Then i recommend converting them in audacity It is free, solid and are well maintained
We dont hesitate to recommend it :
