Sample issues

Hello lmms forum, i am currently a newbie when it comes to lmms. I found loops online i could use in the program. Whenever i play them in the piano roll the loop plays faster the higher the octave. Is there a way i could keep it a certain tempo and length but the pitch change when i use the piano roll ?
I dont know if i explained it clearly enough but any help would be appreciated thank you.

Perhaps my LMMS rookie-guide can interest you? Link in signature.

loop plays faster the higher the octave.

Yes, that is the normal and correct behaviour
Is there a way i could keep it a certain tempo and length but the pitch change when i use the piano roll ?
There are at least two, but currently only one is sure to work:
The best and simplest is to use a Sampler. Unfortunately, we do not have a sampler (yet) that will work inside lmms.
So the simple solution cant be used :'/
The second solution is to re-sample in a program.
Audacity is the program of choice for most lmms users
https://www.audacityteam.org/
So unfortunately, using samples as instruments, are cumbersome at this time, in lmms

Welcome to the forums Ozzytrizzle.

Musikbear answered your question, with lots of good info.
Audacity is the key here,......for now.

If the project you're working on in Lmms, has a tempo of 140 bpm.
And the sample that you're using, has a Tempo of 162 bpm, it will play faster than 140 bpm.
So what you can do, is carry the sample into Audacity and use Audacity's Change tempo effect, to change the samples Tempo, to match the Tempo in Lmms.

Here's the official audacity tut, on how to do this.

Hope you get through. If you get more problems, feel free to ask.
