Is it OK to record guitar with reverb and other effects on?

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Is it right to record guitars just the way we want them to sound? Or will generally audio with recorded reverb be hard to mix (eq, compression, etc)? What are you thoughts on this?

I've heard people say that if the reverb is a big part of the tone and you would use it in a live situations, go for it but if it's there just to make the sound a bit more appealing, to add depth, you should add it in post.

I've heard...
I agree to that.
If you have a sound that is modulated 'life' it would not be reproduceable.
There are too many unknowns in the electronics, so yes -If you have a characteristic modulated sound, then record it.

Besides that, since you are new in Forum
