Open and study existing ones -Learn from them!
Manipulate dials! Learn what that does

I have some tutorials on my lmms yT channel

But you can find others too

You can also study the tracks and presets that users have published on the LSP: https://lmms.io/lsp/?action=logout&olda ... bcategory=

Okay. Hopefully this info might help. :)
Some of this, I figured out on my own.

Saw wave: Can make piano and synth type pluck sounds and good bass sounds.

square wave Image
Can make distorted bass sounds, dubstep gritty sounds and is famous, for making
good ol' NES and SNES etc. chiptune sounds.

sine wave: Can make nice flute sounds and believe it or not
low sounding thick basses, that give fullness to tracks.

noise shape: Can make air rush sounds, air sweep sounds
and even waterfall sounds etc. and a ton of other unusual sounds.

Mix them all together and you'll discover, all sorts of cool new sounds.

Note: Oh, I'll come back and put the ramp wave one here soon.
And I'll put a this same post, dealing with wave signs, in the Tutorials section
with more info soon. :)
