Have trouble adding "background" to my tracks

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Whenever I enter in LMMS and want to make a track I usually start with the usual.
Kick, drums, snare, clap etc and get a nice house or psytrance beat down but then I don't know what do I do for the background.

Yea beat sounds nice but you cant just have bunch of drums and kicks there has to be something in the background and I honestly have no idea what to put in. I thought there was supossed to be a synth in the background or something but they're like not fittable for it, the notes are short and not what I want them to sound like.
Should I just give up on making music?

Have you studied the structure of the music you want to make?
Take some of the best track you like, and dissect them into manageable pieces.
How long is intro,
what happens after intro,
what instruments comes in,
what sort of notes do they play

focuses on learning to do that, but it is trance music that is in focus. The task i however the same

Thanks a lot MusikBear! I'll dig into it! Thanks for the dissecting music into pieces! A bit easier now. :) :D

You can also study the structure (or what you want) of projects on the LSP: https://lmms.io/lsp/?action=logout&olda ... bcategory=
