Piano keyboard as MIDI ???

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Hi.
I am wondering if I can play music on my piano keyboard and have it on a setting where it enters the notes that I am playing straight into a track.

It is not an official MIDI board, it is an electric piano (The Williams LEgato iii , if that helps).

I am a beginer at this.

I have watched tutorials about how to connect a midi board to the software and I have connected it.

When I play piano I see the green levels of sound going up and down, so I know that it is connected.

How do I begin to create a TRACK with the keyboard that records straight unto the system?

Help would be so appreicated! Thank you!!!

I hope so. Have you read the guide here

-and followed all?
Try that for now. I hope that your midi-hardware simply works strait out of the guide :) - If not, tell us where in the guide your problem starts and please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* Latency setting
