I Really Don't Know What to Do

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
I've been using lmms for about 2 months. In terms of making songs, I guess I've been doing fine (though I noticed that some of my tracks feature clipping). I just don't know my way around the program and it seems people are mentioning features that don't seem to exist in the program (like EQing). I dunno, I might just be dumb. Now, what I also wanna know is how to create a swooshing atmosphere (ya know like panning back and forth between headphones) and stuff like that.

EQ-ing mean to use an Equalizer-plugin on the FX-tab, of either an instrumnt, or in the mixer. That way you can finetune the sound coming from an instrument

No you just haven learned it yet.

For that you use automation:

I made a rookie guide, to help with that -Link in signature.

Do not hesitate to go on the LSP: https://lmms.io/lsp/

It is a good source to study something.

Okay.
EQing a sound, also can make a sound sound stronger, or more powerful.

Like for eg. if you add an eq plugin to a drum sample, and play around
with the eq plugins dials, you can make the drum sound, sound stronger
and boomyer.

Check out musikbear's tut linked above, and check out this tut too.

I hope that helps.

Don't worry. If you don't know what to do, or what Eq etc is, then feel free to ask us. :D

An EQ is another name, for what is known as an equaliser.
It can make sounds sound stronger, and can raise or lower, certain frequencies
in a sound or synth sound.

Some good equalizers, that can be found in Lmms are:
Tap Equalizer..........C*Eq........and my personal favourite, C*Eq2x2

A good example of using an equalizer, is by adding it, to a drum/kick sound.
If you do that, in most cases, the drum sound will sound as I call it, boomyer or more powerful.

I hope that helps you. :D
