Pitch sliding bass?

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Hi guys,

Looking to make a sub-bass/bassline that slides pitches etc. Am I right in thinking this is best done through using piano roll and then adding an automation track over the top?

Also, any tips to get the slides to hit precise notes via the automation track?

Thanks,

Beagle

.

That depends
If only the sound should develop as one long continuous tone, that changes pitch, then you just have to use portamento. That is naively part of zasfx, and most VSTs

If you on the other hand want a slide to a specific value, or to a value relative for the note in question, then it is more complicated, and you would need to set up, either automation, or pitch-slide-profiles
with the detune-tool

hey!

thanks for your reply. I actually worked out how to use the automation tracks & detuning in piano roll - turns out its quite similar to Cubase, which was the first DAW I learned to produce on haha.

I will give the portamento I go though!

Thanks!
