Scratches

Hi,

I have a little experience in music production and DJing but still is kinda newbie. Can you please help me understand how can I record my own scratches from DJ controller? Should I connect an audio input or is it possible via USB?

Thanks,
Sarah

how can I record my own scratches from DJ controller?
I suspect you plan to use LMMS in life-performance(?)
That is unfortunately not our strongest feature.. -But
External-hardware must connect through MIDI, or USB
'Normally' External hardware used in LMMS is either MIDI-keyboards, or MIDI-drumpads, and most works.
Hardware like Image is a first :)
Can you connect the hardware through USB, and is anything you touch or press, creating any reaction in lmms?
If you DO have some output, the best option i can imagine, would be to capture the events as automation, but then your DJ-hw should be able to be controlled by LMMS' output, and that is very unlikely..

IF you on the other hand, only want to 'capture' your scratching, as if it was an instrument, then i would use Audacity to simply record the sound you make on your scratch-HW, and then insert that sound-file in a Sample-track in LMMS. That is doable
