Use MIDI just as trigger for Behringer TD-3 patterns

Hi!

Noobest of nooby noobs over here.

I bought a Behringer TD-3 out of nostalgia, guess I can't afford a convertible for my midlife crisis, and I would like to use it with LMMS.

I am generaly able to get it working, both as input and output, attached to various instruments within LMMS. But what I would like to do is simply to use LMMS as a trigger for the patterns inside the TD-3. So it should sync with a drum track I am making in LMMS, but otherwise play its own pattern "independently".

Do you think there's a way I can do that?

Sorry, but that is not possible afaik. LMMS is meant to be the synthesizer. Iow, you connect a MIDI-Keyboard to the PC, and then use LMMS' embedded soft-synths as tone-generators.
The other way around is not supported

We never think of anyone as noobs in here :)
You can do it, i hace done and played Many Korg Volca
LMMS has MiDI input tab per instrument. You can' map any MIDI virtual instrument yo Amu MIDI out

My setup
1) Windows
2) MIDI interface (Like MIDI Flex)
3 MIDI Cable

The sound Will come out from the sinte, so you need to mix the Volca Keys for example yo a mixer.

Y think i have old vídeos un my instagram

That is interesting.
But let me see if i understand you.
Inside piano-roll you make a note-sequence
Each note is a MIDI-CC-event.
In the track with there notes you open the instrument and on the MIDI-page, you select MIDI-out
But what do you set as 'receiver' of that out-signal? Is that the MIDI-Interface MIDI Flex
Where does that appear as selectable?
Do you use a specific instrument?
Can you make some screenshots of your setup and the selections on the MIDI-tab. I dont have a MIDI-KB so i cant test out how this setup works, and how cpu intensive it is.

Besides that, i can see that we never welcomed you in Forum
Welcome andrestreek !
