How to get that late 90's-early 00's pop drum sound?

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
I'm trying to achieve a specific sound with drums but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make them this specific type of punchy. Is there a term for this kind of beat sound? and do y'all have resources for drum sounds? ;-;

Its fine you link 3 yT-vids, but where is the special punch-drums?
You can click on the video, and choose to save the link at the specific time, or add a timestamp here
Like @2:32 -> 2:55
Do that for all 3 vids, then we know what it is you are looking for

of course, I gotcha :p
link 1 - :52 there's a pattern that's kick-snare-kick-ride. The snare and ride is what I'm interested in here
link 2 - :42 there's a flat clap sound here that I feel has the same flat punchy sound as the snare in the last link
link 3 - :00 Here in the intro the kick and snare have this quick flat sound

I'm wondering if that punchy sound is a product of compression, EQing, or some other mix of effects.
