Portamento ?

I do not understand the difference yet, between a not slide and a portamento?

Can I do (and automate) portamento in LMMS?

The only zynth I could find that has portamento is zasfx, but the knobs I need I can´t automate ?

Fade to to grey at 1m12 , this might be portamento ?

In portamento the note you is play now is influenced by the note you played before
It result in a slide from the before-note, to the now-note BUT both notes will play!!! if you hold both down!
The 'cousin' is mono, but there you can hold one note down, and then press another note. mono will slide the first note to second-note, and only the second will play, even though you hold both down!
Note-slide is not depending on previous played note, it just slide between two selected values

Yes with Synth1 i believe you can, just leave out 'mono' and set a porto value ...afair..

No that a wauwau effect on the attack. I know how to make it, but i need to look it up, its something with reso iafair..
Thank you :)

Now it starts to make sense to me.

Will have another look at Synth1 and that mono setting.
Will also try zasfx again, I did find the portamento settings. it might not be an issue I can´t automate it.

Now that I understand the wauwau effect is some thing else, I see the light again.

A note slight is what leads into this part, and I have a slide like that already in my cover.
With help of one of your vids on sliding a chord.

There are at least two in the original.

Super!
The 0033Wah Bass in zasfx is very close to the sound you are looking for
Use a tad less reso, and perhaps open the filter a little, so the sound does not 'choke'
Still searching, but I might have found something:

1: Synth1 Brastring (that is from the internal soundbank)

This might be what I am after although it seems to bend the wrong way. Up instead of down.

You can turn it around.
Here i go through the features in Portamento-settings
I will watch that vid again.

Right now kinda stuck with Synth1. I clearly do not know this Synth as well as I thought.
Can't figure out why there is a swell in the sound, I would expect an lfo, but changing those dials almost does nothing.

It can be so frustrating trying to cover stuff. :(

Part of me is wondering still if it is portamento.

I might be that thingy what you mentioned.

But now gonna watch your vid. :)
Hi !
The first part , the "slide" is a pitch bend , after that when the lead starts I think that effect is a phaser probably with some live tweaking and speed adjustments .
A cool phaser vst that might work is the Full Bucket Phaser because it's an emulator of phasers of that era .
You can also automate it's functions and has some presets too .
The hard thing about this is what sound was used to begin with .
If you have that full bucket phaser check this test , but I didnt automate anything :

Thank you and the slide part I already have, although that needs some fine tuning.

I downloaded your file, and will look for that VST.

Its a polymoog in the original.

That's a very cool video but he doesn't say about the part of that bend - solo thing :)

I searched a bit and it seems it's a Korg Odyssey (then maybe a Yamaha cs-80 or something else ) .

There are free emulators of these on plugins4free and that pitch bend can be made with automating the frequency fine tuning switch on the oddysey synth (I tried on Oddyfree with preset 16 some reverb and the phaser )

I didnt know about the wrentch icon on vestige and its function until I saw Musicbear say somewhere about it so there is pitch bending if the vst supports it ,That's great ! Just click the wrench find the related knob and automate it easy!
It's probably a custom sound with all these buttons and switches on these instruments haha who knows! There werent preset functions on that instrument I guess .

About the effect I strongly believe phaser is taking its part but also delay reverb and flanger can be involved .

it seems other people have the same curiosity , I read about it here :
