Calf multiband compressor

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
does anyone have any manual? or tell me what is responsible for what (knobs) S1 S2 S3 Q1 Q2 Q3 Detection etc.
its an advanced compressor -Good one too!
On top of a 4 part compressor, you also have filters, and that is what Q and S controls.
'S' is saturation of the filter-parts
'Q' is (always) resonance
Detection is modes of compression -kind of 'reaction' to the input -a t&e setting imo.
How a compressor actually work, you can learn from this :

(lot of popups so take care)
Ty for that link, after trying this compressor I was kinda confused.
Oh, so that's what S and Q mean, on that compressor.
Thank you for that info and link musikbear.
If you find Multiband compression a bit intimidating, I think the Zam-plugins multiband compressor (LADSPA) is easier to understand get better results faster. Every compressor sounds different though.
Unfortunately, its pretty CPU hungry.
Good thing I re-found this topic.
I'm actually rechecking this compressor again.
Bump.
