Is there somewhere I can get a better fx understanding?

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Okay so, I love music and have had an interest in making it but I want to learn more so to get further I feel that part of my confusion is what a lot of the knobs mainly in some of fx plugins actually do?

Some of them I kinda can tell based on their name but others I have no idea what in the world they are or what they affect.

Example would be the TripleOscillator -

I get that Vol is obviously Volume and SPD is Speed. I also understand Pitch and sorta Sync for syncing it up I think. But some of the other ones in there like pan, po, crs, fl, etc etc and such I have absolutely no clue what they are and what they do.

I am thinking that maybe if I do as I normally do which is continue to learn more by following some youtube video tutorials along with play around with it long enough then perhaps I might be able to understand them better after awhile hopefully.

What do you guys do? Any advice? I think if I can understand this stuff more I could do better maybe.
I have watched many vids, also of people using real hardware synths.

Slowly you will start to recognize things, but its a study by it self.

Okay, thanks.
Well if you don't mind reading there is a fair amount of information in the LMMS ddocumentation that musikbear always points everyone to. If you missed it the top level is https://lmms.io/documentation/Manual.

For the basic sound makers, the instruments like Triple Osc, ZynAddSubFX etc try https://lmms.io/documentation/Plugins.

They're usually considered different from the effects (FX) which are accessed via the FX tab and modify the instrument's sounds. There's less documentation for them but try https://lmms.io/documentation/Effect_Plugins for a start.

Many of the knobs on both will give you a more detailed description when you click on them like in Triple Osc, CRS says "Oscillator 1 coarse detuning" etc. But these and the wiki do assume you know some of the basic terms like Pitch, Pan, Semitone, Detune, Reverb, Delay etc so you may need to do some Googling as well.

And then you'll have to do some experimenting. The great thing about this is you can't really do any harm. Try things out and see what they sound like. And if there's something specific you want to know ask again here...it's amazing how helpful everyone is.

But it's not easy and it takes time. I started playing with (hardware) synths 40+ years ago and there's still plenty I don't know :(.

Thank you Steve. I really appreciate it and will take a look through some of that as soon as I get the chance. :)
I go through a lot of the various dials in my youtube tutorials, especially for zynAddSubFX, but things like envelopes and LFO reso and more, are ofcause general for all instruments. You can read the descriptions for more, but this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hmJYW14JpU
is meant for beginners in synthesis, and is for 3OC.

I've played guitar a lot as a kid but other than playing and fiddling with knobs on my amp never really knew what many of them were for other than to mess with them to see and figure out what they all do. When I did the FL Studio demo that I mentioned in my first thread before I got into this here I still had the same confusion at the time.

Anyways thank you again everyone and thank you to you too Musikbear. I really appreciate the help. Keeps me motivated instead of frustrated.
