Another brick in the wall - Pink Floyd
Young man.. Do you ask for whooping!?!
how :p dare you compare anything from the golden hands of Floyd to the disorganized noise from KLF ??:p !?
Nae ABIW is not cut from the same stone. ABIW is part of a suite/ rock opera The Wall
A brilliant piece of work!
The industry saw that it was possible to use ABIW to get a top-hit, and it was released in many different versions, but only the way it is done in the suite, is the way Floyd intended it

Floyd are royaltee :p -actually more than that, sorry Elisabeth, you are not even close...
Ha ha……you’re a gas man musikbear (Meaning very funny), how young do you imagine I actually am??

Just so you know, I can sing along with the Wall album word for word from very start to very finish, I have it on Vinyl, CD and the special edition release of the DVD that has original poster as an insert inside the sleeve.

The book I recommended on another thread, The doors of perception, does this sound like it gave inspiration to the wall album?

“The man who comes back through the Door in the Wall will never be quite the same as the man who went out.”

I also have the Dark side of the moon on Vinyl and the Dark side of the rainbow downloaded having watched it many times, I have a VST waiting in reserve for a special tribute song I will make some time soon just for fun,

The point that was being made was in collaboration with GPS post, the rules of the game are played and heeded to, (as you also pointed out) in order to gain recognition for one track from the album, then the creative genius on the album is allowed to flourish and come through.

With this post now in my mind, and your obvious good taste in music, I point you towards this album, I have a feeling you will like it,

Post Script,

I also own Never mind the bollox on Vinyl.

I bought this in West(! on topic of age ;p)-Berlin with afair a Bowie and some early Beatles albums.
I like this 'mash' of classic meets rock, and the skills of Ian, with that flute!

And you absolute correct about the 'accessibility' of the singles from very arty albums. They do drive the sale, and it is also correct that there is a record-businesses' model-method, in using these promotion tracks, as spearheads for the whole album sale. The whole mess with Napster was imo mostly because Napster gave users the chance to get the good tracks from an album, without having to buy an album with 3 great and 8 rather inferior tracks. *That* was a thread to the record-industry-model!

A hookah smoking caterpillar. That had me confused when I saw the lyrics the first time, few years ago. :)
What I thought she was singing was a hooker smoking caterpillar. This confusing let me to googling the lyrics, which at first did not make much more sense. wtf is a Hookah ? Ohhh it's a water pipe.

I should have watched much alice in wonderland probably.

Love that track though.

Like a friend of mine says, to understand the lyrics from that time, you need to use the same drugs. :P
