Running out of ideas

So, I started using lmms quite some time ago. As fate would have it, though I am no electronic/dubstep/drum and bass music fan. I'm a metalhead. And while I listened to some tracks that I could get some great inspiration from, my musical taste has evolved and now I am listening to some extremely technical stuff like this (I suggest using headphones to listen to this. And lower your volume just a tiny bit.):

Try imitating stuff like that on lmms. Or even better, try understanding what those guys are actually playing! So, here I am, asking for suggestions on some electronic music to get some ideas from. Just keep in mind that I hate light-hearted or too emotional stuff. Something heavy or really atmospheric should work, though.

And thank you for taking some time to even read this post :).

I would suggest Machinae Supremacy's soundtrack from the game Jets'n'Guns. They combine metal with chiptune.

I am using a technique that is often used in some instances of groove metal in the project I am working for now, but I am having serious problems with the lead melodies. I can rarely ever come up with a good lead sequence, even though I usually have no problem composing grooves or "riffs". That's why I don't simply listen to a new sub-genre of metal or seek out new bands. I need something more electronic-y

Judging from the three minutes I've listened to so far... it sounds really good. Feeling that this may help quite a bit. Thanks a lot!

If you're looking for heavy pure electro, try some electro Industrial or PowerNoize. PowerNoize tends to be heavier than Industrial, but with fewer vocals (sometimes none). Both tend to have highly distorted vocals.
Any of the Communion After Dark DJ sets are pretty representative of Industrial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p57WDcAerI
If that's not heavy enough, check out some PowerNoize like Hypnoskull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyXgwY4bUHE
or Converter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX-P7BNAt8g

That sounds thrashy as all hell, I love it. Also, is it a cover of Ace of Spades? I am really getting that vibe from it, especially from the last two seconds.

The first 15 minutes of that were good, but at 16:22, when the clean vocals kicked in is where I most fun was spoiled for me. The instruments were fine, but I just hated the singing.

Hypnoskull isn't available, unfortunately, but Converter sounded really rave-y, I had a blast with it. Thanks for the suggestions :).

Yeah, that's more of a Synthpop track. They usually tend to group Industrial & Synthpop in DJ sets.

Did you get a message saying it wasn't available in your country, or something? I'll find you some Hypnoskull to check out!
