Creating a (realistic) piano in LMMS

Write guides and how-tos about LMMS for other members.
Okay guys, here's a quick tutorial in which I explain how I create a piano sound in LMMS, which can be done really fast if you just know how to. Of course, this isn't optimized or very in - depth, so you can play with the settings, though the base sound is there and it's really decent for the amount of time put in it.

Creating a (realistic) piano with patman in 3 easy steps!
1. Open up patman and import a piano patch
2. Add some reverb to create a 'stronger' sound
2b. You can add envelopes too (taste thingy)
3. Make sure it isn't too loud!

I've also uploaded a video on it, for those who would like to hear my awkward adolescent voice explain it.

And once again, the patches are only included in the latest version of LMMS (currently 1.1.0).
If you don't want to / aren't able to get that version or a later version, you can download the piano patch here and find the other patches here.

I hope some people can make use of this.

Here is just one of my piano sounds, I use a lot of .sf2 files to make my music.
But then again, I have been making midi music for years.

I'm not a big fan of patman, so I use Vestige instead for piano. MDA piano is a pretty good VSTi for that. Of course there's also a lot of good soundfont files like Eino said.

You should check out the VST Piano1 then.

Also, Indeed, I set the video as private.
a quick demo of different pianos in sound font files each using the same settings in LMMS

1. Yamaha Grand piano https://jumpshare.com/v/JrOPMHAiCMsN4oDmpvAL

2. Roland https://jumpshare.com/v/J7SzNTIQVfGhKL48T2tu

3. Steinway https://jumpshare.com/v/Y3qa2ZZqGZpnQved2Wx2

Each has it's own qualities, and at times I use the three but I use the Yamaha the most.
I used freepats for a short time, and never got the the quality that I needed.
Nice tut.
I have never really used patman before, but after reading your tut, I shall try your piano tut soon. :D

I myself, made a Piano sound from scratch, in Synth 1 a few months ago.
It sounds good, but I'll try to make it sound better. And hopefully, I'll post a tut on it for everyone to see and make.
It seems alot of people, are trying their best, to make piano sounds in Vst synths these days. Especially trance pianos.
