Tutorial 7
My super dupey long awaited.........(secret tut)
Brandy's
Pipe Tube sound
Made from scratch, with extra loving care.
Yay!!
Today, we make my version of the Pipe sound, heard in the Pipe Guy vid, when he performed at a
Rundell cool mall in Australia.
This is how it should look, when it's finished.
So put on your shades and lets party.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay first off, we need a default Synth 1 file.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1) In the
Oscillators Section.
Change all of the signs to the ones shown in this pic.
Osc 1 =
Saw wave
Osc 1 sub =
Square wave
Osc 2 =
Upside down V
Then: In the
Det FM part.
Set
FM to
73
In the
sub part:
Set
sub to
11
In the example pic,
1oct is
red which means it is
on.
We don't want 1oct on.
So make sure that
0oct is clicked on. It should be red when you click on it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
In the
Filter Section.
Turn the
D dial to
69
freq=
32
res=
14
sat=
30
And of course
LP 24
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In this section
mix =
86.14
p/w =
37
tune =
-22
----------------------------------------------------------------
Now head over to the
Effects Section.
Press the
On button to turn it on. It will turn
yellow, which means it is on.
Click on the
a.d.1 and change it to
a.d.2
ctl1 =
34
ctl2 =
98
level =
80
------------------------------------------------------------------
Head over to the
Unison Section
Click on the
Unison button to turn it
On.
Det =
22 (default)
Go to the
num section.
Click on the
top grey box and change it to
3.
In the
Voice Section
Make sure
poly is selected.
red circle.
Raise it to
22 or slighty higher, if you want.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Last but not least,..........
Tempo Delay Section
Turn the
d/w to
20 or
21
15, is nice for less delay.
Your choice.
Note: If you
switch off Tempo delay, or set the
d/w dial to
0 you'll get a hard Pipe tube sound,
with no echoes.
-------------------------------------------------------
As posted above, this is how it should look dudes.
--------------------------------------------------------
And this is how it sounds.
The
First version, is the same Synth 1 Pipe tube sound we made, but used in a
very short wip remake,
of the same track, Pipe Guy performed in
Australia.

The
2nd version has a
kick added to it. To give it a fuller feel.

The Pipe tube sound you hear in both vids, use a Tempo Delay
d/w of
20 or
21.
Also, got to dig that old school
Ninja Turtles 80's sound, close to the end of both tracks, at
1:00 secs.
------------------------------------------------------------
Now to put our Pipe tube sound in action.
In the next tut. We will make the
full Pipe guy melody, in the Lmms Piano roll.
And it will be posted here on
Page 4.
I'll be back.
To be continued..................
