Hej -Sorry no, your lead and accompaniment are not in same key.
Did you do the execise i made for you?

Where do you have the notes from?
Thank you for some part you make my happy. This means my ears were right LOL.
It does not sound right to me the part you prob call accompaniment. ( purple part in below vid)

I will do that exercise today, I had not forgotten about it,

Every part starts at C in my cover. Scale minor. ( C6, C5 lead), and C4 (purple part). and C7 for the very first note of the song.
This is the example I am using: ( while watching the vid again, I noticed I made a mistake, the tunes do not start in C but in B
The purple part in the synthesia vid is giving me problems, from the start, it does not sound right to me, so that's probably good news, at least I can hear its wrong :)

Not bad I like it. :)
I do mostly MIDI work, using LMMS for the finished product. But I did step out of my comfort zone, and made this one.

It sounds at least in tune :P
I think I like it.

I am very happy with lmms and this board.

As soon as I post any of my covers on the souncloud, somebody likes it and reposts it.
But outside this boards I don't get the feedback I need.
People like or dislike my covers, but cant tell me if its right or wrong.

Now first the exercise !

F G# C ? Thank you LMMS ?
well, that is Fm triad chord
The notes that belongs to F-minor scale:
C, C#, D#, F, G, G#, A#,
These notes are the F-minor scale.

And now , some magic:

* Put notes in at all these posistions
let lmms play them - that sounds quite pleasant - rigtht?
* Now mark all
*Place mouse on the F-note
*Drag the F-note to A, but all the other notes should move with your F-note
Now you have the note that previously was ON F, posistioned at A, and ALL the other notes have moved SAME distance!
Where are ALL notes now? List them
(You may like to use the 'Unmark-all' context-menu-option, because the colored notes can confuse you)
White key besides three black keys, B ?
well # or B, If the black note is Lower than the white, its (depending on a musical rule-set...) possible to 'call' it B, if its higher its (depend...) known as a sharp (#)
You could 'call' C# Db (or flat), it would be the same note.. -But in DAWs we luckily only speak about sharps, so forget about flats :D

Have i covered your quistions - if not ask once more
Not sure if its important but I do notice, the F minor scale uses black keys too.
The A minor does not.

I hope I am doing it right.
A,B,C,D,E,F,G ?

Really appreciate your help :)
the F minor scale uses black keys too.
The A minor does not.
Exactly!
So now you can do exactly the same to your popcorn-song. Move all to A-minor, and if there are any black (sharps) -then they do not belong
From the vidoe you know that A-minor is easy :) -only white keys belong
It is starting to sound better and better.

I am in doubt if its 100% in key, but I like to think I am making progress. The middle part still makes me twitch so I assume its not in key yet.

Here is the lmms file, maybe this helps, I dont exect people to fix it for me, I wont learn anything from that, but if there are still mistakes, it might help you guys point me in the right direction.

One question though.

If a song its played in c it does not matter if that a c1 or c 8 right ?
Same for the green button on the synth ?
I suddenly realised something. The parts I use, which I call sub lead are from this synthesia popcorn version.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT3rMP0VGZ0

Which is played in a different key, so that's maybe were I am going wrong?
I might have found something. My sublead is not like the vid, That's probably because of all the moving around to get it in key.
First need to fix that.
