Feeding through FX mixer channels before reaching output?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
I've been looking for a good way to use VST plugins to vocode. I'm sort of a noob at this stuff, but I found a tutorial on YouTube that teaches you how to use a vocoder plugin in FL Studio. It involved using the FX mixer to pan the modulator and carrier to the left and right, then feeding that through another channel, with the vocoder as its effect, before it reaches the master output. However opening the FX mixer in LMMS shows no real way to feed channels through other channels; they all just go straight to the output. Is there a way to do this?

Oh, never mind. I figured out that the vocoder works if you just assign all three parts (modulator, carrier and vocoder plugin) to the same FX channel. My next question about vocoding on LMMS is that is there a way to stream sound through a mic? Like a real time Line-in to LMMS, so that I could vocode myself live?
