Lmms needs improvement on composing and editing side

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Hi Everybody !
I have been exploring LMMS for quite a while and it is certainly a wonderful program. But I was quite disappointed when I was into composing melodies . LMMS does not allow you to hear and record at the same time- one part is completely muted , so it is really difficult to add fill-ins wherever needed.further on the editing side, if you want to select the entire piece, it becomes difficult to drag the pointer- you really don't know till what end the pointer has gone . LMMS should add select all function. And pitchbends do not get recorded in LMMS, it needs the addition of automation feature in the recording section- like it is in FL studio. Rest is very good. I hope the authors will take notice of this suggestion. I thankyou for this wonderful work. ;)
perhaps i can solve one of your problems
If 'record' means simultanious recording midi-events from your keyboard and hearing the song from songeditor?
LMMS can do that.
See video

where the techniqe is explained.

On 'select-all', i totally agree. The normal standard edit-menu options is missed, but you can do another smart thing in song-editor:
'push' all events with sh+ins ao. 'pull' all events with sh-del

I mean to say that I have recorded one part i.e . melody and now I want to add chords to that parts in the appropriate places. In this case , I need to listen to the first part, when I am recording the second part. Otherwise , how would I know where exactly, I am placing the chords. Do you get me now ?

Hello there !
I am sorry to say that LMMS cannot simultaneously record. I recently discovered that while recording the second part and hearing the first part at the same time, you just have to press the red button ( with a black dot on it ) and you'll hear the first part and simultaneously record the second part with it.
I am extremely sorry !!!

p.s. Now what remains is how to record the pitchbend. I hope the authors will certainly work it out , in the revised version.
I know what you mean. I'm sure it's there somewhere on the wish-list board. It needs to auto-scroll when dragging patterns or selections to the edge. Overlapping of patterns and selections is also problematic. (Too easy to mess things up that way.) And there needs to be a way to squash or stretch a selection, which would be very useful for playing around with different timing.
