Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!

Do you record any of your own sounds, or get them off websites?
Usually, I am using this website for looking for vst: http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?m=VS ... tecture)
Also, this is the great source of unusual sounds: https://freesound.org/
I love to experiment with taking samples, reversing them or looping and playing on the on piano roll - you can get some cool effects :)
I also use that vst website but sometimes find it hard to work out how to use them. I'll check out the freesound one! I love random sounds haha

And the book on LMMS is available to download:
http://libgen.io/_ads/CF6479F0E025650F931833150E83D721 (just click 'get' to download) or use the search window for other versions:
http://gen.lib.rus.ec/search.php?req=l ... olumn=def

Also, I found a group for female music producers on facebook - just search for NormalNotNovelty Network - they are very active and offer workshops in London and also put job/intern offers for people interested in music. You can publish there your music to get feedback etc. I joined this group yesterday :) Hope there will be workshops in January.
Thanks for the download link. And I'll join that group - I just looked it up on youtube: sounds useful

Hi,
Maybe it's a stupid question but are there any females on this forum?
I would like to get in touch as I have never met any other girl using DAW. My musical friends were playing instruments: violin, piano, or they were singing - but usually, they did not like electronic music, not to mention using any form of DAW.
As I am struggling to find any other girls who produce music and groups like 'female producers' on Facebook are totally dead I am curious maybe here are you hiding?
Count meh in
[sub]Im a female btw, but some of my classmates see my gender doesn't exist. I seem to be like a boy to them.[/sub]

I was influenced when I played video games and searched their OST's in Youtube. It happened that the producers are still active after 10 years of making music so I had the opportunity to gain experience myself by observing and listening to their music (I'm the only one in my family using a studio DAW and the rest use notation software)

There are many female producers. (I'm probably sure I am one of the less than 5 females using this DAW eh, almost everyone uses FL Studio.) They are just mostly hidden in Newgrounds.com lol. I had a friend there, namely, Infinity (15 years old) <infinityofficial(dot)newgrounds(dot)com>. She makes Ambient, Future Bass and Dubstep. One most popular producers there is Paragon X9. She made songs in Newgrounds that marked as the website's best classics. And, I've seen some duo producers there, I forgot their names and they're both females. I've seen one also in Youtube, Ukrainian producer 'Cavi' and has her track in Future House Music label. I don't know if this is actually a girl, "the girl next door" (yes, the name may say) makes lo-fi hip hop songs. She's only 14. The music: https://youtu.be/2aNzQ2q3_Wg
Starlyte, Indonesian producer signed in NoCopyrightSounds and 99Lives is a female also.

-------------------------

Hmm... after 2 years of using this software, still a beginner tho. I'm sure that a female producer is really weird for

normies

But eh, if I'd show my Trance and Ambient works in front of the class, they would classify me as dissociated in society. They will tell me to go back in Facebook/Instagram and post a selfie of myself every day like them haha.

There are many young people under 16 years old, and many of them have a good level, it's promising.
Hello Vortexsupernova :D. I definitely will check forum you reccomended. I started a bit late making music (I am in my late twenties). I found a lot of groups on Facebook promoting female artists. Besides 'normalnotnovelty', 'rhythm sister producers' is quite active but female artists who post there music are quite musically developed (mostly hip hop, soul and house). I am learning so I wish to stay anonymous with my musical experiments for now :). But those groups offer a lot of workshops (UK only, unfortunately) and you can share musical news too.
I think I have some male elements.. I even work for automotive company and most of my mates there are male :P. I was never doing 'girl' stuff when I was young and had tomboy style too as a kid. With age it had too change because of the professional reasons :D Our society try to pigeonhole us, choose roles for us, of wives, mothers, caring, always socially engaged...
Any activities demanding some loneliness are by many considered as antisocial. For me, 10 hours spending on making music is more pleasurable than even 5 minutes with 'normies' talking bullshit and gossiping.
Not that this would help much, but I'm pretty sure Macintosh Plus/Vectroid (you know, this person: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU8HrO7XuiE ) is a female producer. So, I mean, they're definitely out there. Glad you're finding a community!
Welp there's me but I'm completely and utterly new to producing...

Don't worry. You girls are not the only ones. :D

There is Kittynau: https://soundcloud.com/elaizzofficial/tracks
But she hasn't visited the forums in a while.

And then there was some Japanese/Korean singer chick?
But unfortunately, I can't remember her name. :P

And there are a couple of others too, who visit the forums, once in a while. :)
