How do I download drum kits on Mac?

I've seen several tutorials on downloading drum kits to PC but none to Mac. New to this so not sure if its even possible

Not possible im afraid, because most drumkits are VST-build, and MAC do not support VST -However!
If you download Hydrogen, all the percussion-sounds are freely accessible as single sound-files. Tose you can simply just copy to your collection of samples, and they will load directly in Audiofileprocessor, so you can add new percussion to MAC-lmms, that way. There may be other drumkits, that you can use the same way

I’ve tried googling it and my friend at Apknite also gave me this: https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Using_MIDI but it didn’t work. LMMS recognized the keyboard and I selected it as main input, but no sound came out.

In respect to your MIDI issue, you must connect in correct order!

If you still have issues please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
