How do you fade sound?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Just wondering how you fade sound in and out......for example, the intro to a song that slowly fades in over say, 10 seconds. Or something that fades out at the end of a section, etc....Sorry, but I might need detailed instructions, not just..."oh, click this button and then slide this widget."

Thanks
jj
you can use automation-tracks and bind the main-volume to that envelope.
Here you can read about how to use automation:

Here you can read about the mixer and how master-channel and individuel channels can be used to master your project:
http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/0.4:FX_Mixer
(and all the other chapters in the wiki is interesting reading too :)

This video also shows how to master your project:

Thanks for the reply....

I looked through everything, but must be a dunce, cause I don't get it. I am able to get a note to fade up, or down....but it only lasts a second...

How do you fade into a long note....say for like 30 seconds as the song comes on.

Thanks

*put in an automation track
* set automation track length as the section you want to fade in/out
*ctrl+drag the master sound-slider into this envelope
*draw the envelope (rem. sh+click creates a continous shape)
*play..
