Need help to extend a melody

I downloaded Lmms today and I really like it, but I can't wrap my head around the song editor. I made a simple melody on the piano roll and it appeared in the song editor. As I want to make a beat out of it, I want to stretch/extend the melody for a certain amount of time but it won't let me.

It's really frustrating for me since I can't find a good solution and I would appreciate any help to solve this

You can't stretch it.

What you can do is copy the block a few times, or add notes in the piano roll.

You probably wanna do the first.

LMMS is a little bit different in respect to 'reusing' song-editor note-segments
You are correct that most DAWs let you drag the right-end, and as you drag, you get a copy of the segments notes. In LMMS we got what i like to call a LEGO-principle. Every segment can be unique and that gives more flexibility in the long run.
You will learn to appreciate the many smaller blocks, just as in LEGO.
