lmms v's ableton

hi very new to the world of Linux and LMMS...

was curious to ask if anyone has used this and also software like albleton,and how they compare to each other...

Well LMMS is not tied to the hip to Linux. Today the acronym 'LMMS' does not contain 'Linux', that is long time gone. LMMS is cross-platform Windows/Linux/MAC.
Compared to Appleton..
I dont know it :p
But to be able to compare, you must look at the free version of Appleton.
If there are limitations in tracks count or similar, LMMS will prevail, because LMMS is 100% free, an on top of that userdriven! Your ideas and suggestions can make it all the way into LMMS! That is how this software has evolved, and that is unique for the open-source-world. Commercial software houses rarely listen to their users.
Those are a few of the benefits, i would point out ;)
