to add an Enveloppe control on VSTs like Sforzando

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Hi,

I like very much the piano in SSO (Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra) and got it to play with Sforzando.
Plugged Sforzando through Vestige and it works ok.
But I would like to reduce a little the Attack.
Don't manage to change it in Sforzando itself, try to edit in the text editor but It get an error message like "this file is not an programm to be executed.."
I would like to know if there is a work around in Lmms to kind of control the enveloppe, maybe through some effect or so?
Any help?

Thanks :)

Thats not good, because you
Plugged Sforzando through Vestige and it works ok.
Vestige does not support envelopes. The only option, when you deal with VST, is to change the envelope in the VST itself. If it does not have envelopes, then there is afaik noting to do. I have never seen a envelope-plugin
I must say that i wonder a bit about our LFO-rack...
I will have to do some experiments, and see if that actually could kind of 'work', Hmm... 8]
Thanks for your answer :)
Is there another way to plug a VST instead of Vestige where I could have some control over the enveloppe?
I have a 'solution' for attack with your Sforzando through Vestige
It is not simple to implement, and will take time.
Attack is in essence just the volume that is increased in a specific incline. The faster the attack the steeper the incline.
0 attack would be 90 dg.
So you can emulate the attack envelope with automation!
You need one automation 'slope' for each played note!
a benefit here is that you will be able to make variable attack the selected notes.
I hope you understand the idea, and that you can implement it
However!
Because it is VST, you should automate the FX-mixer-volume, and not the instrument-plugin.

These chapters should help you:

AFAIK there is no way in LMMS to play sfz files except through a player like Sforzando and Vestige.

One thing you could try, though it's a bit crude, is to put a compressor in the effects chain (FX tab) and set the ratio fairly low and the attack up high. That might tame the attack enough to make a difference but it's not really how a compressor should be used.

thanks guys, I tried your both solutions, which were good ideas but I still couldn't manage the job, no big deal. I will have to live with it looks like, I am facing now bigger trouble with the playback button but posted it under "support" in the forum :-P
